Cherry Crescent Roll

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 pkg cream cheese
  • 1 pkg sliced almonds
  • 1 small jar maraschino cherries
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 pkgs crescent rolls
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 tsp almond extract
  • 4 tbsp milk

Drain an chop cherries. Set some aside for garnish. Mix remaining cherries, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, 1/2 tsp almond extract, and most of the almonds (saving some for garnish). Lay out crescent rolls in a large rectangle - two paired triangles wide by four long - on a floured surface and roll out slightly. Use a spatula to spread mix evenly onto dough and roll lengthwise, sealing ends. Set on a well greased cookie sheet and cut 1 inch slits in the top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk. Drizzle over warm roll and top with remaining cherries and almonds. Serve warm or chilled.
