- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- ½ lb strawberries, sliced
- 1 bottle sparkling wine or champagne
- ¼ cup amaretto
- Combine sugar, water and strawberries in a saucepan; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool 15 minutes.
- Strain mixture, discarding solids. Cover remaining syrup and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
- Pour about 2 Tbsp strawberry syrup into each serving glass, top with champagne and 1 tsp of amaretto.
