  • 4 eggs
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour

Optional Sauce

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg


  1. Attach a dough hook to a mixer and combine all ingredients in a bowl. Beat until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Let rest a few minutes and beat again to stretch the dough. The resulting dough should be fairly sticky.
  3. Use a spatzle maker to press the dough into a pot of boiling water and boil until cooked, ~2-3 minutes. They will float when done.
  4. Optionally, toss with melted butter and warm spices.
