Ingredients
Spatzle
- 4 eggs
- ⅔ cup milk
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 cups flour
Optional Sauce
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp white pepper
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
Directions
- Attach a dough hook to a mixer and combine all ingredients in a bowl. Beat until thoroughly mixed.
- Let rest a few minutes and beat again to stretch the dough. The resulting dough should be fairly sticky.
- Use a spatzle maker to press the dough into a pot of boiling water and boil until cooked, ~2-3 minutes. They will float when done.
- Optionally, toss with melted butter and warm spices.
