Grace's Apple Pie
For Dutch Apple Pie: 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened), 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour, 2/3 cup packed brown sugar, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar. Mix and spread evenly over top.
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp cloves
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
- 8 cups sliced cored peeled apples
- Store bought crust
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Peel, core, and slice apple into small even pieces. In large bowl, toss Filling ingredients. Pour into pie plate, mounding apples toward center. Slice butter into small cubes and place on top of filling. Cover the pie with top crust and cover edges with tinfoil. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until pie crust and crumb topping are deep golden brown and filling begins to bubble. Transfer to cooling rack to cool.
