Marbled Half-Moons

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup instant flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ⅛ cup butter
  • ⅛ cup chocolate
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 egg whites, whipped stiff
  • 4 egg yolks
  • few drops of boiling water
  • lemon juice
  • pinch of salt
  • sliver of butter

Directions

Mix first three ingredients until light and creamy. Gently fold in eggs whites, alternating with the flour, baking powder, and salt. Spread the mixture carefully onto a greased and floured cookie sheet as evenly as possible. Bake at 350 until slightly pink. Cool completely!

Mix the powdered sugar, sliver of butter, water, and lemon juice to make a glaze. Spread the glaze over the cookie. Melt the butter and chocolate together. Drizzle the melted chocolate mixture in uneven horizontal lines. Glide a fork vertically through the chocolate to make waves. Let it dry.

Use a round cookie cutter to cut half moon shapes into the sheet of cookie.
