Store bought cheese blends such as Italian or Mexican blends are perfect for this.
- 1 ½ cup finely grated cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups flour
- 9 tbsp milk
- coarse salt
- poppy seeds, sesame seed or crushed caraway seeds for topping
Cut the butter into the flour and add salt, cheese, and milk to mix into a dough. Cut into four pieces. Roll each to ¼" thickness. Brush each piece with the beaten egg and sprinkle coarse salt and seeds on top. Cut into sticks, ¼-½" long. Bake at 375 on a greased cookie sheet until slightly pink.
