Surprise Cookies


Yields: 8-10 dozen


  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pkg assorted chocolate candies
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4-5 dozen walnut OR pecan halves


Cream together the butter and sugars. Add the beaten eggs, baking soda, salt, vanilla, and water. Add the flour and mix thoroughly. Then chill the dough for at least an hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Form a tablespoon of dough around a mini chocolate bar and place a walnut (or pecan) half on top. Arrange on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until nicely browned.
