Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 ¾ cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon sugar
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 F. Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, sugar, and the eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Shape dough into balls and flatten onto ungreased cookie sheet with a fork. Sprinkle tops with cinnamon sugar. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Immediately remove from baking sheet to cool.
