Plum Sweet 'n Sour Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup
- 1 cup plum sauce or plum jam or orange marmalade
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 cup water + 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstartch
Directions
Heat pineapple (with syrup), sugar, 1 cup water, vinegar, and soy sauce to boiling. Mix cornstarch and 2 tbsp water. Stir into pineapple mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Cool to room temperature. Stir in plum sauce. Cover and refrigerate; serve with almond chicken.
